February 17, 2010 Dslr's with increased resolution means increased time to download the pictures to your computer. This is where fast memory cards come into the picture (no pun intended). The Lexar 8GB UDMA 300x is rated for 45MB/sec transfer rate. On a 12mp camera you get about 300 pictures on one card. Some cameras get an extra boost from the UDMA cards, enabling them to empty the buffer while it writes the files to the card. Specifications

VerdictThe benchmark showed a sequential read speed of 62.74MB/s and a write speed of 32.78MB/s through the Lexar FireWire 800 card reader. This card used with the Lexar FireWire 800 card reader is a dream, lightning fast file transfers. Nothing I hate more than to wait for files to be transferred. Rating the performance of this card knowing there are now faster CF cards on the market is quite hard. There are now cards out there that are twice as fast, I rated it there after, hence it gets a 50% rating. The performance rating is solely rated by the speed of the card compared to the new 600X UDMA cards! I've used B&H personally since 2005, and I get all my equipment from them these days(including the equipment used for these reviews). Thanks for your support, Fredrik.
